This method of approach includes accessing real-time data regarding the conditions of the crops, soil and ambient air along with other relevant information such as hyper-local weather predictions, labor costs and equipment availability.It relies on the specialized equipment, software, and IT services. The main objective of Precision agriculture is to ensure profitability, sustainability, and protection of the environment.
Conservation Agriculture is a set of soil management practices that minimize the disruption of the soil's structure, composition and natural biodiversity. Inspite of high variability in the various crops grown and specific management regimes, these pagriculture share three core principles.
1. Maintenance of permanent or semi-permanent soil cover (using either a previous crop residue or specifically growing a cover crop for this purpose).
2. Minimum soil disturbance through tillage (just enough to get the seed into the ground).
3. Regular crop rotations to help combat the various biotic constraints.
It is a method of approach mainly focuses on maintaining economic stability of farms and helping farmers improve their techniques and quality of life. It is type of agriculture practice focuses on producing long-term crops and livestock while having minimal effects on the environment and tries to find a good balance between the need for food production and the preservation of the ecological system within the environment. Several goals associated with sustainable agriculture includes water conservation, reduction in the use of fertilizers and pesticides and promoting biodiversity in the crops grown and in the ecosystem.
