Marva Hewitt is the Founder and Managing Director of Food Hygiene Bureau, Jamaica. A Seasoned Food Safety and Occupational Health Specialist. consultant with over 25 years experience in the food industry working with SMEs, NGO's such as GVEP, IICA, USAID, CEPEC and private sector global brands such as Diageo, Coca Cola, Pepsi-‐Cola, Nestle and the Hilton Group. She has her Bachelor in Science in Environmental Health from Greenwich University, MSc in Food Safety and Quality, South Bank University. Marva Hewitt is presently studying her Professional Doctorate in higher education at the University of Liverpool. A certified and registered lead auditor and accredited trainer of food safety and occupational health and safety programs and systems, she has lead organizations from initiation to certification in HACCP and ISO 9001; 22000; OHSA with specialty in working with food manufacturers, processors and bottlers. As a HACCP certified manager, she has offered a wide variety of expertise and services to many multinational global organizations. An Environmental Health Practitioner with extensive experience in regulatory of food manufacturers, caterers and retailers in the UK, handling approval applications for start-‐ups SMEs; Ensuring compliance for food hygiene standards including: allergens, labelling and consumer awareness. An astute business consultant with experience of leading special projects in the global food arena. As an advocate for consumer safety have spearheaded several well-‐attended symposiums, international certificate workshops and conferences, most recent was the 8th International Conference in Food Safety and Security, under the theme, Caribbean Preparedness, Regulatory Perspectives in September Kingston Jamaica.
